Announcement of New Principal
The Board of the International School of Ahafo is delighted to announce the appointment of the New Principal, Ms. Ellen Margaret Sutcliffe, who will be the second Principal of the school.
Ms. Sutcliffe graduated with a Master of Science in International Education from the Nova Southeastern University, USA, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the South Australia College of Advanced Education in Australia and the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Chemistry from the University of Queensland in Australia.
Before taking this job, Meg worked as the Director of the International School Rheintal in Switzerland, a school she grew from 19 students (in 2002) to 120 K-12 students today. She has over thirty-three years of experience in education and has worked in schools in Australia, Hungary, South Africa and Switzerland. She currently leads a school’s verification and evaluation team for the International Baccalaureate (IB) and serves on visiting teams for the Council of International Schools (CIS). She is married to Mr. Jeno Gabor Varga, a seasoned engineer, and they have a 24-year old son.
Meg’s appointment was made with the many priorities of the school in mind and we had no doubt that she would be able to tackle them. We believe she will be the prime mover in creating inspiring students and embodying the ethos and culture of the school. She will also secure the school’s Mission statement with all members of the school community and ensure the provision of a conducive environment for teaching and learning that empowers both staff and students to achieve their highest potential. The school could not be in safer hands!
The school would like to thank all parents and friends of the school that interacted with Meg during her visit. Our special thanks to the staff and children who were involved in the activities during her tour of the school.
