We are delighted to announce that the International School of Ahafo has been accepted for membership of the Council of International Schools (CIS). The CIS is a membership community committed to high quality international education. As a global non-profit membership organisation, CIS provides services to primary and secondary schools, higher education institutions and individuals that share these ideals:
- a desire to provide students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to pursue their lives as global citizens; and
- a commitment to high quality international education
This is a huge milestone for the school and demonstrates that we are maintaining international expectations and standards that are equivalent to other good international schools around the world. Only a few schools in Ghana have membership of (or accreditation from) CIS - we are clearly punching above our weight!
Our next step is to seek CIS accreditation. This will involve a detailed self-evaluation process against a number of standards which cover all aspects of school life from Board Governance and community involvement to teaching and learning and child safeguarding. The process is extremely painstaking and takes a number of months to complete. This process will have to be well underway by 2021 to maintain our membership.
Thank you all for your continued support and for playing an active part in this important process.
