Principal's Welcome

Meg WelcomeI would like to offer you a warm welcome to the International School of Ahafo (ISA). I started at ISA in August 2020 and I am proud to be part of a dedicated team of highly qualified and experienced teachers, in this unique school.

ISA provides a high quality international education to the children of the Newmont Ghana Ahafo Mine employees. The school is purpose-built and well-resourced and is an integral part of the Mensah Kumta Village. With our families and teachers coming from various countries abroad, as well as from Ghana, the school community is truly international and multicultural.  We work together as a strong team and share the philosophy that learning should be stimulating and interesting, as well as challenging and rigorous.

The broad curriculum at ISA provides the students with a solid foundation on which to continue their studies, either in the Ghanaian education system, or in other school systems. Our classes are small and teachers are able to cater to the individual needs of our students, nurturing their well-being and fostering a strong sense of community. We encourage our students to develop independence and responsibility in their learning and acquire not only a life-long love of learning, but also an inquisitive nature and a keen interest in the world around them. Our school is located in the heart of the countryside, well away from the traffic and noise of the city, so it offers a healthy environment within a calm and tranquil atmosphere, thus providing a wonderful setting for our students.

As a CIS member school, we are committed to a journey of continuous improvement and high  standards. During these special times of COVID-19, we will continue to provide a high-quality education on-site and/or online as necessary, maintaining safety precautions to ensure the health and well-being of our community.

I encourage you to explore our website further. If you would like more information or would like to arrange an on-site visit, please contact us.
