CIS Membership

We are delighted to announce that the International School of Ahafo has been accepted for membership of the Council of International Schools (CIS). The CIS is a membership community committed to high quality international education. As a global non-profit membership organisation, CIS provides services to primary and secondary schools, higher education institutions and individuals that share these ideals:

• a desire to provide students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to pursue their lives as global citizens; and
• a commitment to high quality international education

This is a huge milestone for the school and demonstrates that we are maintaining international expectations and standards that are equivalent to other good international schools around the world.  Only a few schools in Ghana have membership of (or accreditation from) CIS - we are clearly punching above our weight!

Our next step is to seek CIS accreditation. This will involve a detailed self-evaluation process against a number of standards which cover all aspects of school life from Board Governance and community involvement to teaching and learning and child safeguarding.The process is extremely painstaking and takes a number of months to complete. This process will have to be well underway by 2021 to maintain our membership.
