Earth Day 2023
On Friday, 28th April 2023, we celebrated Earth Day to raise awareness about the importance of protecting our planet and taking action now. Students came to school in earthy colours and images of nature. Ms. Owusu-Ansah led the assembly; she read The Earth Book by Todd Parr to inspire all of us to do better.
During the week, students watched videos on the subject. They also wrote reflections on what they could do personally to contribute to the cause and these were on display in the forecourt and on the tree. Some of the commitments were: “I can help people to clean, take your time to look after the world, we should take care of the earth like it is our parent, stop littering, avoid galamsey, do not burn things, stop throwing trash into the ocean, recycle rubbish, stop cutting trees, plant more trees, among others”
.
Thank you to Gracey, Elizabeth and Lordina for helping with the displays for Earth Day! We were so impressed with their creativity and ideas about what to do and their dedication towards making the day a reality.
Thank you also to the students who did the face painting.
