French Day
Parlez-vous Francais? French Day was on Friday, 24th March 2023 and the main objective was to expose our students to French language and culture and to highlight the immense benefits of being bilungual. Ghana is surrounded by francophone countries and it is essential for us to communicate with our neighbours.
Everyone came to school dressed in the colours of the French flag - the Tricolore - blue, white and red. At the beginning of the assembly, one of the French teachers read a book entitled 1,2,3 Partons en Safari written by Laurie Krebs. Students learnt to greet, count from zero to ten and the names of some animals in French.
The French students from Year 3 to 9 performed a play entitled "Venez a Sunyani" and sang as well as danced to French songs such as C"est la vie" by Chen Khaled and "Ramenez la coupe a la maison" by Vegedream, among others.
Finally, the children tasted some eclairs, a French delicacy made with pastry dough filled with cream and topped with flavoured icing. C'était fantastique! Thank you to our French teachers, Mr. Louis Atsu Agbo and Mrs. Jessica Osei Tawiah for organising a successful French Friday. A la prochaine!
