Spring Day

Date: 11 Apr 2023 // By: Rita Dzide-Tei

On 31st March 2023, we finished the second term on a colourful note with everyone coming to school in bright clothes to celebrate Spring. In many parts of the world, the coming of Spring is truly a reason to celebrate after the dark, cold, grey winter. In the morning, the Student Council organised fun games for the teams.

In the afternoon, different stations were set up for children to move around and participate in fun activities such as
- face painting, cards, egg decorations and a fashion show. This was also an opportunity for the Student Council to
raise funds for their community service projects. There was a Bake Sale with cookies, cakes and homemade lemonade.
With this event the students raised GHS 510 after the cost of the ingredients (GHS 450.00) was taken out. Proceeds will
go into buying school materials for a deprived local school after the holidays.

The Student Council developed their leadership skills as they organised events. All the students benefited from doing
activities in teams with children from 2 to 14, where the older onesnlooked after the younger ones, and everyone also
learnt some new craft skills.

A big thank you to our older girls for doing the face painting - everyone loved it!
