This week, we celebrated World Mental Health Day. In Year 3 and 4 Art, Mr. Governer asked the students to draw their emotions and reflect on why they felt this way. They were very excited to talk about it afterwards. All parents and carers are encouraged to broach such conversations at home and also talk about mental health in general with their children. The more we talk about it, the easier it will be to talk about it and to address problems.
Ms. Dzide-Tei gave a wonderful presentation on mental health to the whole school, and it was clear that students of all ages are able to understand this concept. Students wrote reflections on emotions they have and what causes these emotions. At the end, Year 7 and 8 performed a skit on mental health.
