Our Student Council has officially transitioned to a new team! After completing their term on February 14th, nominations opened for the next 12-month term, followed by online voting. This week, the election results were announced. Congratulations to our newly elected members! Year 9 students will continue to serve as advisors until the end of the academic year.
Student Council Achievements (February 2024 – February 2025)
The outgoing Student Council has left an impressive legacy; their achievements are enumerated below:
- Earth Day: Organised face painting, a quiz, and awareness activities.
- World Environment Day: Led a scavenger hunt, created environmental posters, and crafted a world map display.
- World Teachers’ Day: Hosted a quiz, facilitated “students-as-teachers” lessons, and organised a volleyball match.
- World Children’s Day: Planned a programme centered on children’s rights, with students taking on the role of teachers.
- MKV Cleanups: Regularly organised cleanups to keep our community tidy.
- Hollywood Dance: Hosted a themed dance event.
- Movie Night: Organized a movie night, featuring baked goods for sale.
- Meet the ISA Community: Delivered speeches and managed a market to support community projects.
- Spirit Week: Planned fun dress-up days, including Twins Day, Sporty Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday, Theme Day, and a Talent Show.
- Community Support: Collected and distributed essential goods to people in need, collaborating with Social Welfare.
- School Supply Donations: Donated supplies to local schools, funded by money raised through Student Council events.
- Student Council Fun Day: Organized a day of games and activities for the entire school.
- Bake Sales: Ran successful bake sales to fund charitable projects.
Total Funds Raised: GHS 11,859.70
To mark the transition, we held a special handing-over ceremony to officially welcome our new Student Council representatives. We are excited to see their leadership, creativity, and dedication in action as they build on the achievements of their predecessors!
