Student Council Elections
This year, twenty-seven (27) students were nominated for different positions, from class representatives to Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President and President on the next Student Council. On Friday, 4th February 2022, we heard the speeches of the candidates. All were well prepared and spoke with confidence. They were very impressive, and I am sure each one of them would be a worthy member of the Student Council.
Last week, the students voted for who they would like to have on the Student Council. In almost all cases, there was often only one or two votes between the candidates.
Our new Student Council leadership team is:
- President Kwabena Asare Owusu-Ansah
- Vice President Nana Akosua Serwaa Bonsu
- Secretary Opoku Nhyira Boasiako
- Treasurer Nshira E. K.A.Nomafo
Our new Class representatives are:
- Year 1 Alfreda Fafali Gameli Adusu
- Year 2 Eunice Amoah Owusu
- Year 3 Gracey Efua Aseda Poku
- Year 4 John Kwaku Annin
- Year 5 Queenster Aboagyewaa Kusi
- Year 6 Opoku Frimpong Boateng
- Year 7 Audrey Mawuena Asakpo
- Year 8 Louisa Gyasiwaa Duku
Congratulations to everyone who was elected. I am sure it was disappointing for those candidates who didn’t get elected, but hopefully, the disappointment does not last long. I am proud of all our candidates who put themselves forward for this worthy cause.
I would also like to say a big thank you to our outgoing Student Council. It has truly been a pleasure working with them
over the past months. Some of their accomplishments include: getting additional jugs for water in classrooms after
identifying a need for this; ensuring there were brooms in all the classrooms, influencing the lunch menu - including
getting a healthy fruit option on one day a week; organizing a whole school quiz; hosting a talent show; organising two
events - Fantastic Fun Friday, and Valentine's Day; organising a movie morning; and two bake sales.
Well done everyone!
