We are seeking experienced, self-sufficient and enthusiastic national teachers to join our small but valued, professional and collegial team for the 2022/ 2023 academic year.
The school uses the Cambridge Primary and Secondary 1 curricula. Classes are of mixed ages with two year levels together. The students are delightful, well-behaved and motivated, and the school offers plenty of opportunities to hone your teaching skills. Applicants must also contribute actively to the wider life of the school, including school events and our extra-curricular activities programme. Teachers who are able to teach Music, PE, Swimming or French in addition to their class duties will be seriously considered.
The International School of Ahafo is a small school with approximately 70 students. It is located 292 kilometres northwest of Accra and is in a remote area of the Ahafo region. It has been set up to educate the children of employees at the nearby Newmont Ghana Ahafo Mine. The school is a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA). Next year, the school will go from Reception to Year 9. Thereafter, our students tend to transfer to International Schools in Accra, or boarding schools abroad.
